“MURDER ME ALWAYS”

After weeks of rehearsals and some crazy ups and downs my drama department put on a wonderful production of a murder mystery dinner theatre called Murder Me Always. The night before the show the doors were falling apart and people were at school until 11pm fixing them. For the most of the week of the show the costume designer and costume assistant were out sick and I was the techie running around doing EVERYTHING, and SAVING the day like any super hero. The whole time I’m thinking hey I’m just the only run-crew member that’s going to the rehearsals, well there WAS a long list of people for run-crew but almost all of them bailed. Come the night of the show the only people that were at the rehearsals show up ready to work Facundo the costume assistant, Mariah run-crew, and me, Rachel props mistress and run-crew. It was only right before mic check that I saw the program for the first time. Guess what? I wasn’t listed as run-crew OR props mistress. I was listed as ASM, ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER and you know what I was loving it all. The show went well no one went on without their props everyone remember most of their lines and the rest you can figure out. The show went great. Celebration included the left over chocolatrte cake from the dinner.
